There are really no ‘dress codes’ on cruise ships but more like guidelines to assist you in bringing the right items. Having traveled with a spouse and two teen age daughters, this writer is, however, painfully aware of the cruise shoe formula which is take the number of cruise days and multiply by 5. How else could one possibly pack 35 pairs of shoes for a one week voyage?
But seriously, less is often more on a cruise. The style of ship you have selected usually dictates the way that passengers dress. The shorter and less expensive cruises skew toward very casual and the longer cruises on luxury ships tend to be more formal.

Whether you are traveling through the airport on business or for pleasure, the last thing you are thinking of is safety. Sure, you wonder if your bags are going to be at your destination and your focusing on getting to the gate in plenty of time, but are you thinking about the hazards at the airport that could ruin your day? If you’ve ever lost knitting needles, pocket sewing kits, corkscrews or all-in-one tools to the airport security checkpoint, here’s a way to get it back. Well maybe.
Despite 9/11, more and more traveler’s are losing a grip on their goods. The TSA has devised a way to profit from your loss, however small. The confiscated items are sent to various state warehouses to be either reclaimed or sold. However, this isn’t exactly news. The Unclaimed Baggage Center has been selling lost luggage in Alabama for years. It was even featured on Oprah. It just warms my heart to know that someone may be bidding on my too tight shoes (but they were cute), old undies and brand new bathing suit.

We normally take our vacation on the east coast of the Florida peninsula, so we purchased one week of timeshare vacation on Ormond Beach. It was near the end of summer season in 2005, and we had already taken our vacation that year so we decided to space bank our week until later.
